♥ How long have you been a photographer?
Just over 16 years ago I attended Glendale Community College where I completed my two year degree in Fine Art & Photography. Though I studied dominantly film photography, digital was becoming increasingly popular. I invested in a digital darkroom and camera equipment and turned my photography into business roughly 5 years ago.
♥ How many weddings do you photograph each year?
On average I photograph 20-30 elopements and roughly 10-15 large weddings.
♥ Can I view a full wedding gallery you have photographed?
Absolutely. Click here to view a wedding which used a Tier Two 6 hour photography package. I always suggest asking to see a photographers work outside of their portfolio to ensure consistency of their work and make sure they didn’t just get a few lucky good shots.
♥ How many photographs are included in my package?
This varies depending on the package you select. The elopement package will have anywhere from 50-100 photographs on average, whereas a Tier One full day wedding can yield 500+ fully edited photographs.
♥ How do you decide what photographs to include in our client gallery?
All photographs that meet my standard will make the cut. My standards mainly include good composition and focus in the right places. I often take more than one of the same shot and pick the best to edit. This is especially true for group shots. If Aunt Jill has her eyes closed in the best of the group shots, her eyes will be taken from another shot and placed into the best of the group shot.
♥ Have you photographed a wedding at my location/venue before?
This is something I always suggest asking to see how familiar I am with your location. If it is new to me, I will schedule a visit so that I can scout the best locations for photographs and familiarize myself with the place.
♥ How will my photographs be delivered?
A private, password protected gallery link will be emailed to you where you can access your full wedding. You can download at no additional cost. The download instructions are at the top of your gallery and the photographs will download into a compressed zip folder onto your computer. Please note these are very large files and may not download to tablets or cell phones.
♥ Do you shoot digital or film or both?
Though I love to shoot in film. I photograph weddings digitally so that I may use my digital editing skills and keep up with my fast turnaround times.
♥ What is the standard turnaround time for my wedding photographs?
The average time to receive wedding photographs varies depending on the size of your weddings. For the Tier One and Tier Two packages, you can anticipate 6-7 weeks before receiving your full gallery. For the smaller weddings and elopements you can plan on 4-6 weeks. I attempt to work quicker than the above stated times, however during peek season it is less likely to have your full gallery prior to the times above. A sneak peek will be up within 5 days of your wedding. This posts to blog ♥ sneak peek page as well as Pretty Please Photography on facebook.
♥ Do you provide photographs in color and black and white?
A select amount of photographs will be converted to black and white (5-10) and you’re more than welcome to ask for more at no additional charge.
♥ Will you be the photographer at my wedding?
Yes! Pretty Please Photography does contract amazing associate photographers. If I am booked for your wedding date an associate photographer can shoot and I will edit your photographs and deliver them the same.
♥ What if there is an emergency or illness and you cannot photograph our wedding?
This has never happened but I am sure this can happen so I have a plan in the event something terrible did occur. First I would go down my list of associate photographers who work for and with Pretty Please Photography and find a trusted replacement. Second, if they were all unavailable, I would go down my list of professional photographer friends who own their own wedding photography businesses.
♥ Do you offer a rush to receive photographs faster?
I do offer a rush for photographs with a fee based on your package. If this is something you need don’t hesitate to ask.
♥ How soon in advance do I need to secure you for our wedding?
As soon as you know you would like to have me as your wedding photographer I suggest securing your date unless of course your wedding date is flexible. I begin to book weddings up to a year and sometime two years prior to their date. Don’t let this discourage you though. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to see if your date is open.
♥ How do we book you?
I send over your contract via email and you can sign and fill out easily online and print a copy for your records. A square invoice is attached to your contract for a 30% booking fee. The remainder can be made in payments up to your wedding day or paid in full on your wedding day.
♥ What happens once we’re booked?
Leading up to your wedding we will discuss details about your timeline and work together with anyone involved, like a planner, DJ, videographer etc. We will have a final review before your wedding to go over any possible changes. I send out a wedding day check-list and a must have photography shoot list.
♥ If I left anything out that you would like to inquire about, don’t hesitate to ask.
